Happy Friday!  Today for the Upper School Town Hall, a rep from WCC will be in to talk about the school. Thank you to Jake for arranging this event :) A reminder to register for the Place Based Education Cohort if you're interested (below is from Brianna): The Great Lakes Stewardship Institute facilitates the Place-Based Educator Institute: a place for new and seasoned K-12 educators to learn about/get a refresher on place-based education, develop professionally in a cohort of educators across the Great Lakes region, and work on developing a place-based education project in their specific field of education. It is free to attend, and participants who complete the virtual (mostly asynchronous) 7-week program receive a $200 stipend. If you are interested in doing this with me, or generally want to find out more, go to this link for details and the application: htt...

Hello! Family Coffee Hour today from 8:30-9:30 am in the main commons. We also have a visitor observing the school and some of the students today. Her name is Nikki Opeodu and she's a social work candidate from MSU. She's interested in working with neurodivergent children, and her husband's two children attended Ann Arbor Academy (she's married to Matt Mathias, if that's someone you remember). She would like to see what a neuroaffirming school looks like in action.

Reminder that Laurence is out this morning and Vily is out all day today. I want to share with you this YouTube video about teaching reading and writing to students with ADHD. If that resonates with you, please take the time to watch and let me know what you think, or if there are any strategies you'd like to explore or get more support for enacting.
